We sang a waita - AEIOU - to welcome them to our school. The boys went in the back and the girls went in the front. Secondly, we sang Titiro Look.
Then we came back to our class to do some activities.
We wrote in Japanese. To write our names we used paint brushes and we held them like a pencil. We used a special type of ink. It was very challenging, we had a lot of fun. We learnt how to write Japan in Japanese.
They taught us how to make spinners. They all already threaded the string through the wheels. The next thing we had to do was to colour the wheels in.
Another activity was playing a face-making game. We had to close our eyes and the Japanese student gave us paper eyes and mouths to put on the face. It was hilarious and there were lots of giggles.
At lunch time we played tag with the girls. The Japanese teacher made taught us how to make origami wetas and butterflies.
It was an awesome day. We hope they come back to visit us again.
